Best-Undrafted-NBA-Players

And it’s not by choice, but when they don’t hear their name on that fateful day, they choose to work hard and prove their ability elsewhere. That’s why you find some of the best of all-time undrafted NBA players such as Fred VanVleet, Christian Woods, Haslem Udonis, and many more that we shall look at below blossoming today, despite being undrafted.

David Wesley

While Wesley was in Charlotte, he made almost 36% of his shots as he was a competent outside shooter. Defensively, he racked up 551 steals for the Hornets and made history by becoming 6th all-time in three-point field goals.

David Wesley also spent a year in the continental basketball association before signing with the New Jersey nets. During his 14 seasons in the NBA, Wesley served as a solid combo guard and perimeter defender. It was in his last ten consecutive seasons that he doubled the figures.

Fred VanVleet

VanVleet is undoubtedly among the best of all-time undrafted NBA players who went undrafted in 2016. Before Vleet got into the NBA career, he served as a three-year starter at Wichita State. Then he signed with the Toronto Raptors and was in the G League most of his time in the first season. And it was during this period that Fred led the raptors into a championship run in 2019.

Fred’s mantra has been “bet on yourself,” which he has lived with and helped the 27-year-old to go from fringe NBA player to an epic player on the brink of an All-Star selection in just five years.

Haslem Udonis

This insider defender and rebounder was a key member of four NCAA tournaments when he played college basketball for the Florida Gators. Then in 2003, Udonis signed with the hometown of Miami Heat and found a home there. But he also played in France for a year. He has won the hearts of many NBA fans, becoming one of the most favorite players in franchise history and the best of all-time undrafted NBA players. Haslem announced his comeback for his 18th season in 2020-2021.

Darrel Armstrong

After this former professional basketball player averaged 13.8 points and 6.7 assists, he got esteemed as the sixth man of the year for this outstanding performance. Armstrong played 14 seasons in National Basketball and carved out a spectacular career in the NBA. First, by participating as a basketball player and now an assistant coach for the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.

Christian Woods

Since he joined Houston, this power forward has been the Rocket’s best player. And before the fateful day when he suffered an ankle injury, Woods was on track to becoming an All-Star, but it derailed his season.

He is among the top young big men in the NBA. In last year’s contest, Christian averaged 13.1 points, and he has doubled his efforts by gaining 21.1 points,9.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks. Wood shows excellent signs of becoming one of the most improved players.

Raja Bell

Despite getting undrafted, Bell used his skillset and carved out a long NBA career. He chose to shine and become the league’s best 3-point shooter in his prime. Raja Bell played 12 seasons for a (3) and D wing and was an all-time defensive team pick for two consecutive times. Besides this, he served as a shooter 40.6% from the (3) point range in his career. It’s wise to say that Bells is among the best of all-time undrafted NBA players.

Duncan Robinson

Although this guy went undrafted in the 2018 NBA draft, he has never looked backward after signing with the Miami Heat. He even got the recognition of the best 3-points marksmen. Duncan also plays off screens splendidly; he hasn’t missed any of the 54 Heat games.

Chris Boucher

Boucher became the first player to get the G League MVP and a defensive player of 2018/19. He continues to put some astounding numbers this season; he averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 13.5 points. Chris is currently one of the Raptor’s best rim protectors and rebounders, and basically, a valuable member. And Chris shoots 51.7 percent from the field and 38.3 percent from beyond the arc. That explains why he got shortlisted for the NBA’s most improved player award.
